Glasgow Becomes Latest "Battleground" For The Wanted

Tomorrow night The Wanted will take to the stage at Glasgow's SECC. The band's "The Code" tour lands them in the SECC's hall 4 for the first time having previously played in the neighbouring Clyde Auditorium. This stop in Glasgow marks the mid way point of the bands first ever UK arena tour which comes on the back of the bands recent chart success. The Wanted have sold over half a million copies of their sophomore album "Battleground" in the UK and "Glad You Came" the first single from the album flew to the top of the charts in late 2011.

I think "Glad You Came" is a great pop record. It's upbeat feel, combined with the bands vocals which compliment each other and the song perfectly, made the song a hit!

Current US ITunes Chart

Since the turn of the year The Wanted have been focused on trying to break in to the American music market. They went on a 10 date tour of the states throughout January and February of 2012. The touring seems to be paying off for the band, they have climbed into the top 5 this week in the US ITunes chart and currently hold the number one spot on the Canadian ITunes chart.

The Wanted themselves can hardly believe there current success across the pond and took to twitter to share their love and thanks with their fanbase.

The icing on the cake for The Wanted's American achievements was the appearance of their hit single "Glad You Came" on Fox TV smash Glee.

Fear not The Wanted fans, despite their new found American success the band have not forgotten about their loyal UK supporters. There are still tickets to be sold for their current UK arena tour, so if you want to go see them check the link below for tickets to their Glasgow show on Monday 27th February.
