Festival Fever To Reach Boiling Point This Summer South Of The Border

There may be no Glastonbury this summer thanks to the London Olympics but fear not festival goes there's still lots to look forward to if you are venturing south.

V Festival

When - 18h - 19th August
Where - Hylands Park in Chelmsford,
Essex and Weston Park in Staffordshire

It was announced this morning that reunited rockers The Stone Roses and The Killers will headline the 2012 V Festival. I think this summers line up is a great mix of new breakthrough acts and some old festival favourites. With the likes of Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Tom Jones & Scottish favourites The Proclaimers there is something for everyone so don't miss out when tickets go on sale this Friday, March 2nd at 10am. Sonisphere

When - 6th - 8th July
Where - Knebworth, Stevenage, which is just 30mins outside London
Line Up - Kiss, Evanescence, Tim Minchin, The Darkness, Faith No More and many more.

The 2012 Sonisphere festival marks an emotinal return to the Knebworth stage for legendary rock band Queen. When they take to the stage to headline the Saturday night of the festival it will be 26 years since the bands last performance with front man Freddie Mercury. Joining Queen on stage at the festival and trying to do justice to Freddie will be American singing star Adam Lambert. Lambert sang with the band recently at the MTV EMA awards and hopes he can live up to Queen fans expectations. I think the rest of the line up that had been announced so far is a great mix of artists. Even though Sonisphere is quite a genre specific festival there is still lots of variety on offer!
